Principals Welcome

A Welcome from our Principal.

Ms Lisa Scott
Principal

Mount Burr Primary School is a South Australian government school for students from Reception to year 6. A Preschool is also located on campus and caters for pre-school aged children. Preschool is on Wednesday, Thursday and even weeks Tuesday.

Located in the timber town of Mount Burr in South Australia’s Limestone Coast, our school sits at the heart of a closely connected community. With strong links to local industries and nearby Millicent, we value the partnerships we share with families and the important role our school plays in community life.

At Mount Burr Primary School, our motto “Learning for Life – Aiming for Excellence” underpins everything we do. We are committed to developing the whole child, with a strong focus on academic growth, wellbeing, and personal development. Our small class sizes and supportive environment allow us to provide a personalised approach where every child is known, valued, and encouraged to succeed.

A key focus of our teaching is developing confident and capable learners. Through explicit teaching and our shared language of learning, including our “SECRET Learner Powers,” students are supported to reflect on their progress, set goals, and act on feedback to improve.

Our specialist Arts program enriches collaboration and dedication to high quality education.

Restorative practices are integral to our approach, reinforcing our commitment to nurturing respectful and responsible relationships. Our school thrives on strong partnerships with families. We value the role parents and caregivers play in supporting learning and creating a positive, inclusive school culture.

If you would like to learn more about our school or arrange a visit, please feel free to contact us. I look forward to personally sharing with you the opportunity Mt Burr Primary School has to offer.
